A lot has happened since our last post. The most fun, of course, is the entire Christmas holiday. Ben (and I’m sure Cason, too) had a blast during Christmas…between Ben’s Christmas program, seeing the lights and meeting Santa in Meadow, family birthdays/parties, Santa visiting, opening presents and eating tons of cookies and candy…Ben has been over the moon. Cason was entranced by the hustle and bustle of it all. Unfortunately, Jed was sick and nearly missed all of our families’ celebrations…we will be sure to make it up somehow!
Ben’s school had a Christmas program that was one of the highlights of my holiday. He hadn’t talked to us much about the practicing that they had done or which songs he had learned. I was a little nervous for him because he has still been adjusting to going to school. He did great. I don’t think his lips moved once to sing or if his eyes hardly blinked… I think he was too amazed by the sea of people in front of him. We think he was really proud and definitely excited…he loved having his family there (Dah, Pop, Granna, GrandBarry, Ashlie, Garth and Ansley). Kye’s class also performed and he did amazing, also! I wasn’t able to get any pictures but did get these videos below:
Cason is changing and developing every day. He has started to reach and grasp for things with really good aim! He has tried rice cereal ( I don’t think he notices it hardly) and peas. He didn’t really like the peas all that much but its not like Ben really encouraged him too much either! Ben thought the peas were yucky and couldn’t stand to see me feed them to Cason. Maybe next time we try peas, Ben can take a nap! J Cason had his 4-month check-up on January 8. He weighed in at….his length was…. He still doesn’t mind wearing his boots and bar/brace. We’ve had a time with the left shoe coming off a bunch. Hopefully the problem will lesson as his feet grow and get a bit chunkier.

Ben continues to be the world’s best big brother. Nearly every morning when he wakes up, he asks where Cason is. He loves sitting with him, talking to him, showing him his toys, playing with his hair, “changing” diapers…the list goes on. He loves having Cason nearby at all times. They’ve even shared bath times recently which both boys seem to love. Cason lights up when Ben is around and Ben is always so proud when Cason smiles and laughs at him. Ben calls him Cason but also calls him by the nicknames that he has made himself : Case and Casey. Ansley calls him “K K” so Ben will call him that also. Ben volunteered himself to go to the doctor and hold Cason’s hand at his doctor’s appointment this week when he found out Cason was getting shots. Our entire family cannot be more proud of their relationship and I pray that they will always love one another this much!
